As a Music Director, Joel is equally comfortable working with vocalists as he is with a band. Joel's experience as an actor allows him to always motivate the music from an actor's perspective, while promoting vocal health. On the flip-side, Joel's training as a Jazz Pianist, allows him to embellish and adjust piano arrangements to compensate for a smaller band or solo piano performance. Joel has musically directed dozens of well-known shows, in addition to accompanying countless concerts and benefits featuring Broadway performers. A graduate of the Hartt School, Joel also teaches private voice, piano, and freelances as a copyist, notating and transcribing scores.
Joel is currently the Artistic Associate / Resident Music Director of the New London Barn Playhouse, a Summer Theatre in the Lake Sunapee Region of NH.
